NCLC Celebrates its 35th Founding Anniversary

In its three decades and five years of existence, NCLC has never failed to live up to its purpose which is to provide a holistic Christian education to the youth of Marikina and other neighboring cities and municipalities, regardless of gender, religion and financial status. Graduates of this institution have been equipped with the knowledge, skills and most importantly, the values essential to make the youth become real persons of character, confidence and competence. It is subsequently but proper to launch a remarkable week of celebration for NCLC’s 35th founding anniversary.

With the accompaniment of the Drum and Lyre team, morning of February 9 catered the Ribbon Cutting and the Opening Ceremony in which the school directress, Dr. Leticia S. Ferriol warmly welcomed everyone at the threshold of the week-long celebration. In the latter part of the day, a delightful gala was organized to celebrate the Directress’ Natal Day and the Teachers Appreciation Night. Headed by the NCLC Assistant School Principal, Tchr. Irene Kate F. Saulog, all faculty members of the different departments, including the non-teaching staff attended the prestigious gathering wearing their lovely and stunning long gowns. Trophies were awarded to the model teachers and the educators who have devoted five or more years of teaching in the academe. 

Day 2 set off as the students and teachers, wearing the NCLC foundation shirt assembled along the River Park near the Marikitna Statue early in the morning to start the foot parade leading to the NCLC building. Arriving at the NCLC auditorium, the students and teachers sat according to their teams. The contest for the team yells, banners, muses and escorts took place. The competition for the board games which are scrabble, chess and word factory then happened at the 5th floor; while, 8th floor was the venue for sack and obstacle races.

Days 3 and 4 launched the ball games meet in the Marikina Sports Park. Students cheered for their respective team players for volleyball and basketball. The badminton match and the amazing race pushed through, afternoon of 3rd day. The 8th floor was filled with echoing cheers as the grade school and high school tug of war took place, afternoon of 4th day.

The week-long founding anniversary celebration wouldn’t be complete without the Talents Night of the cute and lovely Kindergarten pupils which started at 5pm of the 5th day.

The 35th NCLC Foundation Week was indeed full of fun and excitement. The organized mental, physical and social activities only further developed the discipline and camaraderie among the students and teachers. Happy 35th Founding Anniversary NCLCians!
