Athletics NCLC Grade School Athletics Team, more commonly known as the Runnex Kids, proved too strong for the opposition as it once again dominated the athletics competition of the Marikina Private Schools Athletic Association (MARIPRISAA), last September 10, at the Marikina Sports Center.
At its 18th season, the team’s victory was visibly demonstrated by a sweep of gold medals for girls’ competition and two, from their boy counterparts. According to its long-time head coach, Mr. Jhun Valeroso, this season’s gold medal haul totals to an impressive 21, which is two more than last year’s tally. His assistant, Ms. Princess Baldomero, helped process the needed papers for the student-athletes’ participation.
The team’s best performer was Ariana Española of Grade 6-Daniel, who won a total of six gold medals from her performances in 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, long jump, triple jump, 4×100, and 4×400.

Nicole Marielle Gatmaitan (4) and Ayeisha Leigh Suico (3) of 5-Ezekiel,
Princess Heart Matawaran (2) and Alheana Joyce Mayormita (2) of 6-Daniel,
Jamaica Tumandao (1) and Mohammad Hanif Dida-agun (1) of 5-Esther,
Aimee Nicole Delos Santos (1) of 4-Joshua, and Zaki Ifan Viray (1) of 4-Joel.
Alexa Rolaine Ison of 3-Peter, Christian Gabryle Brigati of 4-Joshua,
Abdul Haseeb Dida-agun, Gian Rhyne Carbo, Emekhiel Tarzona, and Mitch Cayabyab of 5-Esther,
Abigail Faye Pagsanjan of 5-Ezekiel, Yuichi Kuwahara and Yeshua Mikhail Rutaquio of 6-Isaiah complete the team.
Runnex Kids Team will continue its campaign and as the champions of MARIPRISAA, gets its ticket to the Marikina City Schools Division Meet. The track and field team aims to further improve their performance as they face tougher competition in the Division Meet, which serves as the qualifier for the Regional Meet.
Aside from the 21 gold medals, they also won 37 silver and 8 bronze medals.
